On September 20th, people of all ages in hundreds of countries are taking the lead of young people and walking out of their jobs, homes, and classes to demand real climate action from our elected officials.
At noon we gather at Foley Square and then march to Battery Park for a rally with Greta and youth leaders, and other special guests.
FEATURED ACTIONS
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 18TH
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
The climate crisis may be the biggest challenge New Yorkers have ever faced. Our city and state are setting the pace with new laws aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from buildings, cars, and industry. But the fossil fuel industry keeps rolling out new pipelines. And some communities bear a much heavier burden than others. What’s been achieved, and where do we go from here?
Join Sara Gronim (Co-facilitator of 350 Brooklyn) who will moderate a conversation with Lisa DiCaprio (Associate Professor at NYU), Yessenia Funes (Environmental Justice Journalist for Earther), and Kim Fraczek (Director of Sane Energy Project).

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 25TH
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
During U.N. Climate Week, corporate leaders and public policy makers will gather at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum on 9/25 to discuss solutions to the climate crisis they helped create. If power brokers like Jamie Dimon, Gary Cohn, and Henry Kissinger want to be part of the solution they must radically change their thinking, their strategy and their sense of urgency.
Wake up bright and early and join Rise and Resist for a nonviolent demonstration as the forum participants arrive.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 27TH
3:00-5:30 PM
We view the fight against climate destruction as just one part of the fights against racism, colonialism, fascism, and capitalism. We believe that frontline communities must be the most audible, visible, and powerful people in that fight. And as a tool in that fight, we're starting to build the power of the ultimate direct action: the general strike.
This strike will happen 1 week after the youth-led strike on September 20th, and on the last day of the UN Climate Summit, to show that the people will not be silenced.
